Low maintenance, high impact
This garden in Five Ways, Brighton, was a real pleasure to work on — a gorgeous, low-maintenance space filled with Mediterranean-inspired planting, including some striking olive trees.
Although the property is a terraced home, we were fortunate to have rear access to the garden, removing one of the usual logistical challenges for this type of build.
We installed a generous terrace directly outside the bifold doors, and another smaller seating area at the far end of the garden, beside the garden room — the perfect spot to catch the evening sun. Linking the two, a planted gravel garden with staggered plank paving provides a soft, natural pathway through the space.
Perched at the top of a hill, this garden is exposed to strong winds — which made planting day especially interesting. It took several team members (and a fair bit of teamwork) to carefully position the beautiful olive trees!
