Multi-level coastal garden

On this project we were working with the existing garden structure which transitioned over multiple levels. The garden didn’t work for the family. There was little flow through the connecting spaces so the garden felt disjointed and areas were inaccessible. With a clever design by Fern and Pine we created a Mediterranean sanctuary by the sea.

There was a lot of hard landscaping work in this garden. We built new walkways and steps from porcelain and timber, created new paved terraces with built-in benches and custom-made stainless steel balustrades and installed a bespoke hardwood pergola. All the materials used were selected because of their resistance to coastal conditions.

Finally, the soft landscaping completed the Mediterranean feel of the garden.
